I began my tennis career by attending the Professional Tennis Management program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mi. in which I graduated in the fall of 1989. I was in the first PTM class at Ferris State University in 1986.
I spent my first two years of my career working at the John's Island Club in Vero Beach, Fl, five years at the Round Hill Club in Greenwich, Ct, and two years at the Country Club of Darien. In 1995 I became the Head Tennis Professional at Farmington Country Club. In 2012 I became the owner and Executive Director of 4 Star Camps.
Since arriving in Virginia, I have been awarded the USPTA Virginia Professional of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2007 and 2010 was the winner of the USPTA Mid Atlantic Professional of the Year in 2000 and 2008. In 2009 Farmington Country Club was named the USTA Virginia Club of the Year.

In 2012, my wife Patti and I purchased 4 Star Tennis Camps at the University of Virginia. The camp has three components: Academics including SAT Prep and College Prep Workshops, Tennis, and Golf. Each summer we have kids from all over the world who come to Charlottesville to participate in the camp. This summer we currently have kids from over 15 different countries.
In September of 2012, I started TennisBusinessManagement.com which is a subscription based website for tennis professionals.
In January of 2013, I became the Executive Director of the USPTA Mid-Atlantic Section. The USPTA is the the world's oldest and largest association of tennis-teaching professionals. With more than 15,000 members worldwide, USPTA offers more than 60 professional benefits to its members, including certification and extensive educational opportunities. The Mid Atlantic Division has over 500 teaching professionals in the Maryland, West Virginia, Washington DC, and Virginia area.
In March of 2013, I became the Boy's High School Coach at The Covenant School. In my first year our team went 20-1 and won our league championship and won the Division II Independent League Championship and I was award the High School Coach of the Year. This was Covenant's 6th State Championship in a Row.
The Charlottesville Tennis Pro Shop was opened in 2012 and is the only Full Service Tennis Pro Shop in the Central Virginia Area.
In 2017 Patrick took over all of the stringing for the Men's and Women's tennis teams handling all of their equipment and stringing needs.
I have had the opportunity to speak at numerous conventions and regional tennis conferences on all facets of the tennis industry. I have served on many tennis committees and boards helping to promote grass roots tennis. In 2008 I was featured in Club and Resort Business Magazine. I have been a member of the USPTA since 1989 and the PTR since 1990.
I currently reside in Charlottesville, Virginia with my wife Patti and my two daughters Lauren and Hannah.
